In this quiz, we had to create a PowerPoint of a story using different shots and angles. We had to make at least 15 slides for the different shots and angles required in the PowerPoint. For the different shots and angles, we had to use one establishing shot, one long shot, two medium shots, two close-ups, one extreme close-up, one point of view, one low angle shot, one high angle shot, and the last five shots were our choice. Another important aspect of the project was to include at least two things that were not alive for our characters in the story. In the PowerPoint, we also had to include a description of every shot, explaining why we chose that shot or angle. The last thing we had to include was a story description on our PowerPoint.
My partner and I started the project by brainstorming what our story was about and what inanimate objects we would use for our characters. Once we had all our ideas for the story, we jotted down the different scenes and shots that correlated with the scenes. Afterward, we began to take pictures of the different shots and angles with our characters in our school. Then, I finished taking the rest of the shots at my house. When we had all of the shots taken, we started to embed them in order into our PowerPoint slides. Then, we wrote two to three sentences for each slide to explain why we chose each shot/angle. Lastly, my partner and I finished up with writing the description of the whole story.
What my partner and I did well was the planning of the project since it allowed us to complete the rest of the project more fluently. Another thing that we did well was the angles we took and demonstrated for scenes because they portrayed the symbol of the characters in those particular scenes. Something that I think should be improved would be the point of view shot because we did not establish that one of the objects was witnessing the action taking place in the particular position we took for the point of view shot. Another flaw in our project was the setup for the shots. For example, some of the shots did not seem like medium shots since one of the characters was much bigger than the other. Therefore, it was challenging to make it seem like a medium shot.
